The 2nd Annual National
Entrepreneurship Week, under way at California State University, Fresno
through March 1, features events aimed at students throughout the week.
The celebration is coordinated by the Lyles Center for Innovation and
Entrepreneurship at Fresno State.
“Technology Tuesday,” which will take place on Feb. 26 at noon in the
University Student Union, room 308, will allow participants to bring
their ideas and creativity in for an assessment by Mike Summers,
director of the Technology Development Center. Participants will learn
what it takes to make their dream a reality. Pizza and soft drinks will
be provided.
On Wednesday, Dr. George Vozikis will discuss the Institute for Family
Business in the Lyles Center classroom at 3:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Craig Scharton will host “Hop on the Idea Elevator” at 4
p.m. Students will have one minute to “pitch” their possible
entrepreneurial and business ventures. The winner will receive a free
business fundamentals course. The event will take place at the Central
Valley Business Incubator, 1630 Shaw Ave., Suite 163.
National Entrepreneur Week is a celebration sponsored by the Consortium
for Entrepreneur Education to recognize the value of entrepreneurs to
the American economy and to encourage the growth of entrepreneurship
education as a lifelong learning process. By hosting these events for
Fresno State students, the Lyles Center hopes to support this national
mission and encourage entrepreneurship across the campus.
