Three new officers joined the University Police Department at Fresno State following a swearing in ceremony on campus Thursday, July 24.

University Police personnel, members of the campus community and family members of John Gavel, Addison Lee and Joseph Pulido attended the ceremony.

“Swearing in three new officers is an exciting event for our department. As we fill positions our department is able to continue to serve and respond to the ever-changing needs of the campus community,” said David Huerta, UPD Chief of Police.

UPD is the first agency as sworn police officers for the three officers. Lee joined the department after completing the police academy, Pulido was a part of the Fresno Police Department Reserves and Gavel was a member of the Sheriff’s Office Reserve.
