Students success is focus of Sept. 17 SAFARI

Programs and services that help Fresno State students succeed in college will be showcased at the 3rd annual SAFARI at California State University, Fresno from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

The Student Affairs Fair and Resource Information (SAFARI) will feature exhibits and information tables on the University Student Union balcony.

Representatives from the Division of Student Affairs’ 25 programs and various other resources will be available to offer informational materials and explain how they can help students succeed.

“Studies show that the more students are involved in their campus and use the resources available to them, the more likely they are to complete their degree,” said Dr. Paul Oliaro, vice president for Student Affairs. “We are offering this event because we want students to succeed at Fresno State.”

More than $3,000 in prizes will be awarded including a Nintendo Wii, an Ipod, a digital camera, several $100 gift cards, a mountain bike and a university parking permit. Food, beverages and entertainment also will be available.
