Wahlberg new Associated Students president |
|
The position was vacated Oct. 6 when Mackee Mason resigned. Sandra Flores also resigned ASI’s executive vice president and was replaced Wednesday by Beatriz Campuzano, an agricultural education major. Both were elected in roll call votes after giving presentations to the Senate at its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday. They immediately assumed their new positions as the university’s top two student executives. Wahlberg, 21, a 2005 Bullard High School graduate who is minoring in Spanish, was elected senator for the College of Engineering in April. He has received numerous scholarships and awards and has contributed more than 400 hours of community service to various organizations. He also was one of the first winners in the award-winning iamfresnostate.com Web site. Campuzano, 21, a 2005 graduate of Foothill High School in Bakersfield, was elected in April as a senator-at-large and chaired the Senate’s Activities Committee. As executive vice president, she chairs Senate meetings. The Senate will work next to fill the two Senate vacancies created by Wednesday’s actions. For more details, click here.
