The Professional Grounds Management Society has announced that Ryan McCaughey, manager of grounds and arboretum at California State University, Fresno, has become the 115th grounds management professional nationally to successfully complete its certified grounds manager (CGM) program.

McCaughey, who came to Fresno State in 2007, leads a staff of more than 20 people who care for the campus plantings, athletics venues and University House, the president’s residence.

Those achieving the CGM professional designation must first have accomplished a documented level of professional education and on-the-job experience. Candidates must then must pass a two-part examination.
