Pep rally, tailgate build Bulldog spirit at New Mexico Bowl

There will be no lack of Bulldog spirit in Albuquerque when Fresno State’s football team meets Colorado State on Dec. 20 in the New Mexico Bowl.

Fresno State is playing in its ninth bowl game in 10 years under Coach Pat Hill, and the team will get plenty of support from the Red Wave.

The Fresno State Alumni Association has scheduled two events in Albuquerque for fans traveling to the big game.

From 6 to 7 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time) Dec. 19, the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque will become the unofficial capital of Bulldog Country for a pep rally featuring appearances by Hill, the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band, Spirit Squad and TimeOut, the Bulldogs’ mascot.

On game day the Alumni Association is sponsoring a tailgate in the Corporate Reserved Tailgate Area north of the University of New Mexico stadium, where the game will be played. The tailgate begins at 10 a.m. and continues until noon, with entertainment by the Marching Band, Spirit Squad and TimeOut.

Kickoff will be at 12:30 p.m. (MST, 11:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time) and the game will be broadcast on ESPN II.
