Holiday wine/gift showcase features wine tasting at Farm Market

The Gibson Farm Market at Fresno State will hold its second Holiday Wine Showcase that includes a free sampling of all Fresno State Wine varieties from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include a free tasting of several other student products, as well as a display of gifts and decorations, a wreath sale and a 20 percent discount off all wine and Fresno State Agriculture apparel purchases.

“Our student products make wonderful Christmas gifts so we wanted to give shoppers an opportunity to stop by, enjoy a sampling of our products and help agriculture education at the same time,” said Jennifer Sobieralski, manager of the Gibson Farm Market. “Now you can know what that wine gift you give tastes like before you buy. This also gives us a chance to say ‘Thank you’ to customers who support our students throughout the year.”

In addition to the Fresno State Wine varieties, shoppers can sample Fresno State’s holiday ham, holiday ice cream flavors, eggnog, olive oil and more. The event, first held last week, will feature a showcase of gifts and decorations, as well as blown glass ornaments, custom gift baskets and holiday floral arrangements.

Fresh Christmas wreaths will be on sale for $16. A one-pound holiday sampler of Fresno State nuts and raisins will be available for $15, and a 2.25-lb. holiday sampler will be on sale for $25. For the wine tasting, samplers must be 21 years old with a valid ID.

The Gibson Farm Market is on the southeast corner of Chestnut and Barstow avenues. For more information or store hours: 559.278.4511 or visit Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market.
