Fresno State engineering students
will be at Sierra Vista Mall Feb. 21-22

The Lyles College of
Engineering at California State University, Fresno, will participate in
the National Engineers Week 2009 with Engineers at the Mall Saturday and
Sunday, Feb. 21 and 22 at Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis.
National Engineers Week, celebrated Feb. 15-22, is an opportunity to
showcase the daily impact of engineers and engineering on an
ever-changing world, said Hernan Maldonado, director of Pathways:
College of
Engineering Student Program in the Lyles College.
Engineers at the Mall will include the student organizations of the
American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Mechanical
Engineers, Engineers Without Borders, Institute of Electrical and
Electronic Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers, Students in
Construction, Surveyors & Geomatics Engineers, the Society of Hispanic
Professional Engineers. All will demonstrate their projects.
Exhibits will feature the Lyles College’s Human-Powered Vehicle, the
Formula One car and student projects.
Engineers Week, a coalition of more than 70 engineering, education and
cultural societies and over 50 corporations and government agencies, is
dedicated to raising public awareness of engineers’ contributions to
quality of life.
Engineers at the Mall will run 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, and 11
a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22.
