The Armenian Studies Program
of California State University, Fresno, will hold its 21st annual
banquet on Saturday, March 15, at the Fort Washington Golf & Country
Club, 10272 N. Millbrook Ave., in Fresno. A reception will begin at 5
p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.
Special guest will be The Honorable John Ordway, former Ambassador to
Armenia from 2001-04, who will participate in a panel discussion on
“United States Foreign Policy in Armenia and the Caucasus.” Joining the
Ambassador on the panel will be Keith Simmons, former USAID Mission
Director in Armenia, and Bruce Janigian, vice president for Development
and Government Relations at American University of Armenia.
The banquet also will recognize student recipients of Armenian Studies
scholarships and grants and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Hye
Sharzhoom newspaper published by students as a supplement to Fresno
State’s newspaper, The Collegian. All former editors and staff of the
newspaper are invited to join in the reunion.
Tickets are available at $40 per person, and $20 for Fresno State
students.
