The Central Valley Health
Policy Institute (CVHPI) will accept applications for the 2009-2010
Health Policy Leadership Program until May 15.
The institute is committed to facilitating the development of health and
health care policies and programs in the San Joaquin Valley. Current
policy research and technical assistance priorities for the CVHPI
include uninsured and inadequately insured adults, health professional
shortages and environmental influences on health.
The Health Policy Leadership Program seeks to increase regional capacity
to create and implement effective health and health care initiatives.
New this year, as a response to new policy and service delivery
challenges and opportunities facing leaders in the San Joaquin Valley,
the program will emphasize the emerging social determinants of health
framework.
