The
Staff Assembly Pancake Breakfast will kick off Vintage Days – the annual
spring event at California State University, Fresno – at 7 a.m. on
Thursday, April 16, in the Free Speech Area.
The breakfast which is open to the public, features cooking by Fresno
State officials, Bulldog coaches and community leaders. Among those who
will don the Vintage Days chef aprons are Fresno State President John.
D. Welty, coaches Pat Hill (football), Margie Wright (softball) and
Adrian Wiggins (women’s basketball) and Fresno County Sheriff Margaret
Mims.
Other chefs include Linda Penner, chief probation officer for the Fresno
County Probation Department; Fresno State Provost Dennis Nef, Director
of Athletics Thomas Boeh and Fresno State Police Chief David Huerta.
The event, designed to build enthusiasm for Vintage Days, is sponsored
by the Staff Assembly, a university-recognized organization that
provides a voice for staff employees and involves them in campus
activities.
Vintage Days runs April 16-19. The free student-planned celebration
annually brings more than 50,000 people to the campus. In addition to
several attractions such as the Boomtown Carnival, Kid’s Zone and
special events, such as this spring’s Golden State Strongest Man
Competition, public tours of the new Henry Madden Library will be
available.
Tickets for the pancake breakfast are $5 presale and $6 at the event.
