California State University,
Fresno students, faculty, staff and nonprofit community partners were
honored May 15 at a reception hosted by President John D. Welty.
The Service Recognition Reception is an event that recognizes the
exemplary commitment to community engagement exhibited at Fresno State.
The total hours of service performed by the Fresno State community
during the 2008-09 academic year is being tallied now, and it is
anticipated the figure could top 800,000 hours.

Service Award. Recipients are awarded a gold, silver or bronze lapel
pin, a certificate and letter signed by the President of the United
States. Students were recognized based on the number of service hours
completed in the past academic year.
