The Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Fresno and the Coleman Foundation announced recipients for Coleman Fellowships for 2009-10 academic year.

The award provides a stipend of $5,000 to each Fellow. Awardees are:

• Professor He Yan Beal, Department of Child, Family and Consumer Sciences, for the course “Entrepreneurship in International Retailing.”

• Professor Martha Vungkhanching, Department of Social Work Education, for the course “Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development.”

• Professors Matthew Jendian and Don Simmons, Department of Sociology for the course “Entrepreneurial Approaches to Sustainable Community Partnerships.”

Coleman Fellowships offer stipends to faculty to support their development of curricula that incorporates entrepreneurship into an existing course or for the creation of a new course in their academic discipline to enhance and develop entrepreneurial education on campus.

The Coleman Fellows program was developed at Fresno State as the model for taking the program to a national level. In January 2009, the Coleman Foundation began the process of awarding Coleman Fellows to faculty across the country.
