Encourage Tomorrow, a
nonprofit educational service provider, is partnering with California
State University, Fresno, to three summer academies in medicine,
engineering and arts and culture for pre-college youth.
The sessions available, which run 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily, are:
June 15-19, Medical Academy: Students will explore career paths and
growing needs in the field. Focus areas are human anatomy, nutrition,
first aid and safety. Students will learn about resources available on a
college campus such as pre-med internships. Open to students in grades
9-12.
July 6-10, Discoveries Engineering Academy: Students get first-hand
experience with building and creativity through design and engineering
activities. They will get a head start toward exploring potential
careers by meeting engineering professionals. Open to students in grades
5-8.
July 20-24, Passport Around the World – Arts & Culture Academy:
Students visit different countries each day to get a better
understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. Open to students
in grades 1-4.
