The Cineculture Club at California State University, Fresno begins its fall 2009 season of provocative films on Sept. 4 with “Kung Fu Hustle,” followed by discussion led by theater professor Ed EmanuEl.

All films in the series will be screened at 5:30 p.m. in McLane Hall, Room 121. The presentations are free and are open to the public.

“Kung Fu Hustle” is an award-winning action crime film about gangs and set in the 1940s in Canton.

Programs with Fresno FilmWorks are scheduled the second Friday of each month at the Tower Theatre in central Fresno.

CineCulture is a film series provided as a service to the Fresno State campus students, faculty, staff and community. It also is offered as a three-unit academic course in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism.
