California State University, Fresno’s Craig School of Business internship program, which serves 250-300 students annually, has been named 2009 Program of the Year by the National Society of Experiential Education.

Also recognized is Debbie Young, the internship program’s coordinator since 2000.

The award recognizes “exceptional commitment to experiential education” on campus. It will be presented at the society’s conference Oct. 28-30 in Dallas, Texas.

Craig School internships, offered in partnership with businesses throughout Central California and beyond, provide hands-on amplification of classroom training and help students establish contacts leading to career success after graduation.

“The award confirms our conviction that our success in providing students such experiences as internships and service-learning opportunities is indeed something to be proud of, “said Dr. Robert Harper, dean of the Craig School.

“We value highly the contributions of Debbie Young in building our program and in the countless hours she spends with community leaders, employers and students,” said Harper.

For more information, contact Young at 559.278.4985 or debbiey@csufresno.edu.
