Fresno State academics and
athletics are teaming up to create a pre-homecoming game event and
exhibition that will appeal to both audiences on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The event in the library’s new Ellipse Gallery will feature highlights
of Fresno State athletics going back to the 1960s. Bulldog athletes from
the past and exhibits of their photographs, trophies, notable sports
memorabilia and testimonials will be featured from 4 to 6 p.m.
Library Dean Peter McDonald and Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh will
host a reception to open the exhibition in the Ellipse Gallery on the
second floor of the North Wing.
A meet-and-greet session with a star athlete from each recent decade of
Bulldog sports will kick off at 4 p.m. To help guests get in the
homecoming spirit before the football game with San Jose State, members
of the Fresno State Alumni Association, pep band, cheer squad and mascot
Time Out will be present.
Trolleys will be available to ferry guests between tailgate events on
Bulldog Lane and the Madden Library. Because Oct. 17 is game day, an $8
fee will be charged to park on campus.
For more information, questions about physical access and reservations
(advised by Oct. 15) call 559.278.5790.
The Ellipse Gallery exhibit will continue through mid-November.
