Osher Lifelong Learning Institute awarded $1 million endowment

The Bernard Osher Foundation has awarded the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at California State University, Fresno a $1 million endowment.

The Bernard Osher Foundation supports a growing national learning network for seasoned adults. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes operate on the campuses of 121 institutions of higher education from Maine to Hawaii. OLLI targets people 50 and older who want to expand on their knowledge, providing a rich array of workshops, short courses and field trips across a broad spectrum of interests.

Fresno State professors teach many of the OLLI offerings. OLLI has no entrance requirements, grades nor exams and boasts more than 500 members annually who participate. The Bernard Osher Foundation has awarded Fresno State numerous grants over the past 4 1/2 years.

The endowment ensures that the work of OLLI continues in perpetuity. For more information about the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Fresno State and its spring activities, visit csufresno.edu/olli, phone 559.278.0008 or e-mail osher@csufresno.edu.
