The Office of Community and Economic Development at
California State University, Fresno is a partner in a countywide
roundtable on job creation and economic growth convening at 9 a.m.
Monday, Jan. 25.
Business owners, residents, state and local officials, union members,
nonprofit organizations, community leaders, economists and other
interested parties will meet at the Fresno Council of Government
Conference Room, 2035 Tulare St. #201, in downtown Fresno.
The event is sponsored by the USDA Rural Development office. Other

“This forum will provide an opportunity for residents, business owners
and community leaders across the state to share ideas on creating jobs
and improving economic opportunities,” said Glenda Humiston, USDA Rural
Development state director.
“Government can help lay the groundwork for economic growth,” she said,
“but the best ideas for continued growth and job creation often come
from local and community leaders. I look forward to hearing these ideas
and sharing them with the administration.”
Participants’ primary focus will be on ideas to accelerate job growth in
rural America.
