He’s an expert on air and water quality, something that is critical to our region. Dr. Charles F. Krauter, recipient of the 2004 Provost’s Award for Distinguished Achievement in Research, is on the cutting edge of scholarship. As a professor in the Plant Science Department he has extensive experience teaching courses in irrigation, water management, plant water relations, soil science and plant nutrition. He also has a knack for making technical information easier to understand. His tireless efforts have made Fresno State one of the leaders in air quality research. A dedicated educator, his guidance has helped students follow in his footsteps: one earned top recognition in an air quality research competition at an American Society of Agronomy statewide conference. Dr. Krauter also serves on three advisory committees to the local air district and California Air Resources Board.

With Dr. Krauter is Matt Beene, Plant Science graduate student, and Jon Thornton, Plant Science senior.
