Students just might be playing Internet games in Dr. John Moghaddam’s class, but he doesn’t mind; in fact, that’s according to plan. A professor in the Management Department and recipient of the 2004 Provost’s Award for Technology in Education, Dr. Moghaddam has placed all his courses on the Web and implemented a new Web-based simulation game he calls WebSim. The simulation provides students with real-time Internet communication and decision-making capabilities. Through virtual lectures that offer on-demand streaming flash presentations, he’s made it possible for students to select and run any of the simulation components whenever and wherever they choose. Dr. Moghaddam is a pioneer in the use of WebCT, an Internet precursor to Blackboard. For the Craig School of Business, he helped develop the E-Business option and provided invaluable help in creating and integrating online surveys and peer evaluations. With Dr. Moghaddam is Kori Joneson, a senior International Business major, and Derek McCullough, a senior Marketing major. |
