Peters Family continues to support university
The Peters family foundations continue generous support of programs and projects at Fresno State.

Pete P. PetersThe Pete P. Peters Foundation donated $100,000 to support gallery space in the balcony area of the Ellipse in the Henry Madden Library. The area now is the Pete P. Peters Ellipse Balcony Gallery and will support student and faculty exhibitions.Mr. Peters was honored at a reception in the library on Jan. 29.

The Ellipse Gallery in the Henry Madden Library will be named in honor of Leon S. Peters resulting from a $500,000 gift from the Leon S. Peters Foundation. The gift will support exhibitions, programming and operations in the Ellipse Gallery. In addition, the gift will support bringing in nationally-known speakers and top notch traveling exhibitions from other regions.

Leon S. PetersThe Leon S. Peters Foundation provided a $50,000 gift to advance the Leon S. Peters Papers Project. Through this gift, a research collection of the business and personal papers of businessman and philanthropist Leon S. Peters is being developed and archived. The collection will also house video interviews and nomination papers of winners of the prestigious Leon S. Peters Award recognizing exemplary business leadership in the service of community improvement.

Another $20,000 gift from the Leon S. Peters Foundation will fund a year's worth of activities for an Ethics Center in our College of Arts and Humanities. Activities include speakers, release time for a faculty ethics fellow, a research award, and an ethics essay contest.

 

Gift News
We have a new $50,000 pledge to create the Ben and Clarice Krikorian endowed scholarship for students pursuing degrees in piano performance as well as for those enrolled in orchestra.

KFSN ABC 30 made a $42,112 pledge to support a journalism scholarship through the Department of Mass Communications and Journalism.  The selected student can renew the scholarship annually for up to four years.

The Coleman Foundation gave $100,000 to support the Coleman Entrepreneurial Pathway at the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Scholarships for science and mathematics students received a boost with a $115,959 gift from the estate of Frederick Dale Trauger, a 1939 graduate of Fresno State who lived in Albuquerque.
