‘Bulldog Blitz’ pregame show
Bulldog Blitz” airs before Fresno State football games broadcast by KFRE, Channel 59. The half-hour program is hosted by Ralph Wood, the KMPH/KFRE sports director and play-by-play announcer, and broadcast analyst Randy Rosenbloom. One feature will be a segment in which fans ask questions about the Bulldog football program or the upcoming game. The show will air before Fresno State’s game at Utah State on Saturday, Oct. 7, vs. Hawaii on Oct. 14 and at San Jose State on Dec. 2. Click here for details.   

Bulldog Boulevard  open for Oct. 14 Homecoming
Part of the homecoming festivities on Oct. 14 will be Bulldog Boulevard, the family-oriented blend of music, food and attractions for young fans. Bulldog Boulevard begins at 11 a.m., three hours prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff of the game against Hawai’i, in the Red Lot just east of the entrance to Bulldog Stadium. Admission is free and food and drinks can be purchased. Lou Gramm, lead singer of Foreigner, is the day’s featured performer. Click here for details.

Quarterback Club luncheons are scheduled in
Fresno on Oct. 12 and Visalia on Oct. 13 with coach Pat Hill talking about the season to date and prospects for the rest of the football schedule.  Click here for details.

'Dogs host  cross country championship
Fresno
State will host its third Western Athletic Conference cross country championship on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Woodward Park. The women’s 5K will start at 9 a.m. and the men’s 8K at 10 a.m.  In addition to hosting WAC championships in 1997 and ’99, Fresno State was the home of six Pacific Coast Athletic Association cross country championships.

Fresno State men’s tennis will host its annual Bulldog Classic from Oct. 13 to 15 at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center on campus. … The Bulldog soccer team opens Western Athletic Conference play against Nevada on Oct. 6 and also hosts conference games in Bulldog Stadium on Oct. 13 vs. Idaho, Oct. 15 vs. Boise State and Oct. 29 vs. Hawai’i. … The men’s basketball Tip-Off Dinner is scheduled Oct. 22 at the Fresno Convention Center. … Track and field will open its season with the annual Turkey Trials on Nov. 15. … Fresno State will host the its second annual Run for the Dream indoor track and field meet Jan. 15 at the Save Mart Center. … Jan Winslow is moving to a new job -- an assistant softball coach -- after service as assistant director of athletics media relations.
