Kremen School gets new development director
Mona M. Nyandoro, who has been a Peace Corps volunteer and recruiter, is the Kremen School of Education and Human Development’s new director of development, succeeding Sue Moore Fenske. The appointment was announced by Mary Anna Dunn, associate vice president and director of the Campaign for Fresno State, who said Nyandoro’s Peace Corps experience “has given her a unique perspective on philanthropic work.” Nyandoro, who also has worked for several other public service institutions, is responsible for cultivating financial and other support for the Kremen School.
Charitable gift annuities provide income
One option for planned giving to the Campaign for Fresno State is a gift annuity, an agreement between a donor and the California State University, Fresno Foundation to provide a fixed income for one or two people and benefit the university. A charitable gift annuity created today guarantees income for life of up to 11.3 percent, depending upon your age. “Part of a gift to create the annuity is income tax deductible and part of the annuity payment will be tax free,” said Carol Widmer, a certified financial planner and, the director of planned giving to the campaign. Longtime Fresno community volunteer and philanthropist Rosellen Kershaw “likes her charitable gift annuity so well that she’s considering a second one to benefit Fresno State,” Widmer said. Asked which school or college will benefit from her charitable gift annuity, Kershaw answered: "Oh, without a doubt, the College of Arts and Humanities!" Information on charitable gift annuities and other planned giving options is available from Widmer at 278.8337 or via e-mail at cwidmer@csufresno.edu. Click here for more details.
