Hoops in Save Mart Center spotlight
Men’s and women’s basketball has moved into Western Athletic Conference play, with several key dates scheduled in Save Mart Center. To make it more attractive, Bulldog Athletics is offering four-game WAC PACK tickets (admission to four conference home games) starting at just $20. Here’s the lineup, with tip-off at 7 p.m. except as noted:  Saturday, Jan. 6, men vs. Utah State; Thursday, Jan. 11, women vs. San Jose State; Jan. 13, women vs. Hawaii at 1 p.m.; Jan. 22, men vs. San Jose State; Jan. 25, women vs. Nevada; Jan. 27, men vs. Louisiana Tech. The women’s games Jan. 11 and 13 will be broadcast on Comcast cable’s community outlet, Channel 14. Children can get in the Zone
A treat for children before Bulldog home games in the Save Mart Center is the Bulldog Fun Zone. The area’s attractions include interactive displays, inflatable games and visits from Timeout and Victor E. Bulldog.

The Bulldog baseball and softball teams are busy on the field preparing for their upcoming seasons. Several events are scheduled this month to get fans ready for opening pitches in February. Save Mart Center plans for NCAA women’s tourney
The Save Mart Center at Fresno State will host one of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament regional finals on March 24 and 26, which will produce one of this season’s Division I Final Four competitors. The other regionals are in Dallas, Greensboro, N.C., and Dayton, Ohio. For tickets, call 485.TIXS (8497).

John WallaceNewscaster is new Bulldog Foundation president
Veteran Fresno television personality John Wallace is the 2007 President of The Bulldog Foundation's Board of Trustees, which oversees the annual scholarship fund for athletics. Wallace will serve as president of the 61-member board for 18 months as the Bulldog Foundation transitions from a calendar year to the university fiscal year. Wallace, a news anchor at KGPE, CBS-47, will be assisted by 2007 first vice president Rob Saroyan, fund drive vice president Curtis Stubblefield and secretary/treasurer Andy Polterock.
