American Humanics program honored
Matthew A. Jendian (Sociology, director of American Humanics) led a group of 15 students and one alumna who participated in the national American Humanics Management Institute, where Fresno State’s American Humanics program was honored for community service. Fresno State was one of 13 universities placed on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. The award pays tribute to those programs that respond to President Bush’s call to service through community engagement. The Fresno State delegation spent three days in Washington, D.C., at a symposium that exposes students to experiences they will encounter as nonprofit professionals. Jendian and Fresno State President John D. Welty serve on the American Humanics National Board of Directors and Jendian is co-chair of the American Humanics Campus Directors Association.
