George B. Kauffman
(Chemistry, Emeritus) has been appointed special editor for inorganic and organic chemistry for the new interdisciplinary journal Pathways of Science, which will be published by Springer Verlag. He also will serve on the editorial board. Kauffman published “Albert Hofmann: Life and Work. Sojourn of a Chemist of Nature"(with former Fresno State student Dr. G. Wayne Craig of Syngenta Aktiengesellschaft, Basel, Switzerland), The Chemical Educator (Dec. 1, 2006); “Fluorine and Diamonds: A Retrospective View of Henri Moissan (1852-1907) on the 100th Anniversary of His Death;” “Raman Spectroscopy: From the Research Laboratory to the Process Line;" “Biological Inorganic Chemistry: Structure & Reactivity;" “Multiple Bonds between Metal Atoms,” all in The Chemical Educator (Feb. 1); and “The teenager who changed chemical world,” in The Fresno Bee (Feb. 3).
