Campus community will join food drive
The campus community is being enlisted to join an effort by a group of Fresno State marketing students trying to collect 250,000 pounds of canned and nonperishable food within a 24-hour period to benefit the Community Food Bank. Collections will be taken from 2 p.m. May 11 to 2 p.m. May 12 in the Red Lot next to Bulldog Stadium near Cedar and Barstow avenues. Click here for details.

Mediator MentorsMediator Appreciation Day is May 10
The campus will host 600 students from elementary and middle schools in the Sanger, Fresno, Central and Hanford school districts May 10 for the fifth annual Mediator Appreciation Day, part of the Mediator Mentors Program. The event is sponsored by the Kremen School of Education and Human Development, the Peace and Conflict Studies Program and University Outreach Services. The young student mediators, trained by Fresno State student mentors, will hear presentations by professional mediators, enjoy a picnic lunch and visit the Downing Planetarium, USU Bowling Lanes, Save Mart Center and academic program buildings. Marketing students set records helping ReadFresno
Teams of Marketing 100 service-learning students led by faculty members Guy Decatrel and Alan Canton set records in their efforts benefiting ReadFresno. Decatrel’s night class collected 9,000 usable children’s books in three drives, while Canton’s class conducted a Bowling for Books event that raised $2,575.
