Campaign ‘quietly’ powers past $56 million
The Campaign for Fresno State has developed commitments of more than $56 million (through end of the 2006-07 fiscal year) during its first two years. At his Fall Assembly speeches, President John Welty called the cumulative total during the comprehensive fundraising campaign’s “quiet phase” “another incredible step forward” in ensuring financial resources for Fresno State’s academic future. Fundraising activities intensified with help from co-chairs Bud and Jan Richter and “Powering the New California” is the campaign theme. The phrase has been incorporated in numerous ways to reinforce on- and off-campus understanding of how Fresno State is meeting regional challenges and developing leaders for the future.
