Dr. Elizabeth WilkersonReservations due for Elizabeth Wilkerson Hall of Fame luncheon
Dr. Elizabeth (Sam) Wilkerson, who taught nursing at Fresno State from 1986 to 2005, will be inducted into the Central San Joaquin Valley Nursing Hall of Fame during an awards luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at TorNinos Banquets (5080 N. Blackstone Ave.). Wilkerson, a bedside nurse for more than 44 years, was an educator, technology pioneer and role model to countless patients, families and students. Space still available for Ag Boosters Barbecue
Reservations are being accepted for the annual Ag Boosters Barbecue, scheduled for
4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at Rancho Vista del Rio in Madera. The event is being sponsored by the Ag One Foundation and California Women for Agriculture, showcasing food and wine produced by Fresno State students and includes a “country store” with handmade arts, crafts and baked goods, plus music and live and silent auctions. Proceeds benefit students and programs in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. Plagiarism workshops begin

Dr. Constanza CerutiArchaeological lecture considers Incas
“Sacred Mountains, Ceremonial Sites, and Human Sacrifice Among the Incas” will be the topic of a lecture by Argentinian archaeologist Dr. Constanza Ceruti at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Alice Peters Auditorium at the University Business Center. The lecture is being sponsored by the Fresno County Archaeological Society/San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America and by the university Department of Geography and Fresno City College. StonehengeSpring 2008 London Semester accepting applications
Applications are available for the spring 2008 London semester program, which is open to students, faculty, staff and the general community. The program offers for-credit art, English, history, humanities and theater courses. Program-sponsored field trips visit Stonehenge, Salisbury, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Canterbury and York and historical London. Reservation deadline Sept. 24 for cancer pilot program luncheon
Reservations must be made by Sept. 24 for an Oct. 4 community luncheon addressing the Fresno Breast Cancer Navigator Pilot Program. The Central Valley Health Policy Institute is collaborating with the San Joaquin Valley Health Consortium on the event. Coleman fellowship applications due Sept. 28
The deadline is Sept. 28 for faculty of all disciplines to submit proposals for Coleman Foundation fellowships, which provide $5,000 stipends to encourage development of curricula in nontraditional areas of entrepreneurship and innovation. The Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship seeks applicants for up to three fellowships that require a plan be developed during the fall semester and carried out in spring 2008. Jan YanehiroUniversity Lecture Series season begins Oct. 2
The 2007-08 University Lecture Series begins Oct. 2 with alumna Jan Yanehiro, a broadcast journalist, and entrepreneur Michealene Cristini Risley discussing “This is Not the Life I Ordered,” a book they co-authored with former state Sen. Jackie Speier. Other programs in the series will focus on global climate change, Discovery Channel’s “Mythbusters,” and poetry and prose. Dan WaltersPolitics expert Dan Walters is Tatarian Symposium guest
Dan Walters, a veteran McClatchy newspapers political columnist, will give the keynote address at this year’s Roger Tatarian Journalism Symposium, “Politics and the Digital Age,” on Oct. 5 in the Satellite Student Union. A panel is being assembled as part of the symposium, which each year brings top journalists to campus.

Depression screening on campus Oct. 11
University Health and Psychological Services will host a depression screening event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 for faculty, staff and students as part of National Depression Screening Day. Participants will complete a questionnaire, watch a video, and meet individually with a Psychological Services counselor to discuss the video and their questionnaire responses. The process takes about an hour. Psychological Services and the Department of Psychology organize the annual event. For more information, call 278.6734.

Engineering Alumni Chapter seeks golfers for tourney
The Fresno State Engineering Alumni Chapter is taking reservations for its sixth annual golf tournament, scheduled Oct. 12 at the Riverside Golf Club to benefit the Rick Husband Memorial Alumni Scholarship fund.
