Big events mark final Fresno State football games at home
Fresno State football hosts two home games at Bulldog Stadium in November. On Saturday, Nov. 3, the game against Utah State will also be marked by a rare flyover by two B-1B Lancer bombers, a food drive to feed Fresno County’s hungry and Band Day. This year’s home season ends against Kansas State on Nov. 24, when it will be both Senior Day and Fan Appreciation Day. Basketball season tips off
The men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off their 2007-08 seasons in November with several home games at the Save Mart Center. Both teams look to build off strong 2006-07 seasons in which the men’s team reached the National Invitational Tournament and the women’s team won 18 games. Men’s and women’s basketball exhibition doubleheaders up first
Before preseason play opens, Fresno State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will compete in doubleheaders Sunday, Nov. 4, and Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Save Mart Center. The women’s team entertains the Melbourne Roos from Australia at 2 p.m. Sunday, followed at 4 by the Bulldog men vs. Western Washington. On Tuesday, crosstown rival Fresno Pacific is the competition for the women at 6 p.m. and the men at 8:30.
Men’s preseason basketball home schedule includes new tournament
The Bulldog men’s basketball home preseason starts with the new World Vision Classic presented by Papé on Nov. 9, 10 and 11 in Save Mart Center. Fresno State plays Portland at 8 p.m. Nov. 9, Liberty at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 and San Diego State at 4 p.m. Nov. 11. The tournament’s other competition matches Liberty vs. San Diego State at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 9, San Diego State and Portland at 8 p.m. Nov. 10 and Liberty vs. Portland at 1 p.m. Nov. 11. The Bulldogs will play Montana State at 7 p.m. Nov. 21, to which all youth in eighth grade or younger will receive free admission with purchase of a regular-priced adult ticket.
Women host Cal, Oklahoma State at home
The Bulldog women’s basketball preseason in the Save Mart Center includes two big-name opponents during the month. On Nov. 10, Cal visits at 1 p.m. and at 1 p.m. Nov. 24, Oklahoma State from the Big 12 will be the opponent. Admission to that game will cost $2 for people who bring a ticket stub from that day’s football game against the Big 12’s Kansas State.
Bulldog basketball will be on radio
This season Fresno State women’s basketball can be heard live on ESPN Radio, AM 790. Bulldog men’s games are broadcast on KMJ, AM 580, and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes, AM 1600. Complete broadcast information is available on www.gobulldogs.com.
Radio and TV cover volleyball and soccer
ESPN Radio, 790 AM will broadcast the Fresno State vs. Cal State Bakersfield soccer game at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 and the Bulldogs Western Athletic Conference game against perennial powerhouse Hawai’i at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. Comcast cable’s community channel (Channel 14), plans television coverage of Fresno State’s volleyball game against San Jose State at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.
Volleyball and soccer set to wrap up seasons
Fresno State volleyball and soccer wrap up their 2007 regular-season schedules at home in November. Bulldog soccer hosts Cal State Bakersfield at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, which will be Senior Night, recognizing Bulldog soccer seniors. The Western Athletic Conference tournament begins at New Mexico State on Nov. 15. Volleyball has back-to-back Western Athletic Conference matches against San Jose (Thursday, Nov. 1) and Hawai’i (Nov. 2) in the Save Mart Center and hosts another league rival, Idaho, on Nov. 8, which will be Senior Night. All games begin at 7 p.m. The conference tournament begins Nov. 8 at Boise State.
Football in Honolulu on TV
Fresno State football heads to Hawai’i for a Western Athletic Conference showdown with the Rainbow Warriors at 8 p.m. Nov. 10. The game will be broadcast live on Bulldog Sports Network (KFRE, CW59, and Comcast cable 5).
Season-ending football games on ESPN/ESPN2
Fresno State’s Thanksgiving weekend battle against Kansas State in Bulldog Stadium will be broadcast on one of the ESPN group of cable networks, as will the Nov. 30 game at New Mexico State.
Men’s golf closes fall schedule
The Fresno State men’s golf team concludes its fall schedule Nov. 5-7 at the Pacific Invitational in Stockton. The spring schedule begins Feb. 20 at the John Burns Invitational in Oahu, Hawai’i.
