Angelica Carpenter (Arne Nixon Center/Madden Library) had an article published in the Baum Bugle: A Journal of Oz. Carpenter’s feature is “The Man Behind the Curtain: Can the Reader Spot a Ringer in the Aunt Jane’s Nieces Books?” Carpenter is president of the international Oz Club and a contributing editor to the Baum Bugle.Steven Church and Provost Jeri Echeverria

Steven Church (English) has had his essay "I'm Just Getting to the Disturbing Part" nominated by Fourth Genre for a Pushcart Prize. The essay was included in the Fall edition of “Fourth Genre: Explorations in Nonfiction.” “The Pushcart Prize — Best of the Small Presses,” is an annual anthology of work from the nation’s publishers of poetry, fiction and nonfiction.

The Armenian BibleBarlow Der Mugrdechian (Armenian Studies) edited the newly published book, "The Armenian Bible: A Symposium Celebrating the 1600th Anniversary of the Discovery of the Armenian Alphabet and the Translation of the Bible into Armenian." He contributed a chapter on "The Bible and Armenian Culture," and wrote the foreword.

Andrew FialaAndrew Fiala (Philosophy) is the author of "The Just War Myth," to be published the end of the month by Rowman & Littlefield. The same publisher last year issued Fiala’s "What Would Jesus Really Do?"

Peter Robertson (Annual Giving/Development) received two awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District VII for the “I am Fresno State” project that featured students creating videos promoting their support of the university. The project was the gold award winner for communications/public relations campaigns and the silver award winner for brand/image/logo in competition among participating schools in Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah.
