Hofstra volleyball coach will lead Bulldogs
Lauren Netherby-Sewell was hired as Fresno State's new volleyball coach, following success in her two years as head coach at Hofstra University in New York. Netherby-Sewell is a California native who played for Nevada. She was an assistant coach at Columbia and Hofstra before moving up to coach the Pride. Click here for details.
Fraley plans retirement at season's end
Longtime Fresno State track and field coach Bob Fraley will retire at the end of this season, his 28th at the university. Fraley, whose programs have produced NCAA championship athletes and Olympic Games participants, will continue his involvement with the Run for the Dream indoor track meet at the Save Mart Center and in the North American Pole Vault event each summer in downtown Clovis.
New Bulldog Bite scheduled March 11
The second Bulldog Bite is scheduled at noon March 11 in the Pit of the University Student Union, giving people a chance to hear from Fresno State coaches and student-athletes in a question-and-answer setting. The inaugural event on Feb. 26 featured softball coach Margie Wright and equestrian coach Becky Malmo. Other Bulldog Bites are scheduled at the same time April 1, 15 and 29.
Bulldog softball on TV
The Bulldog softball team can be seen live in action on Comcast Cable's Channel 14 at 6 p.m. March 18. Fresno State will play Northern Colorado.

All fans now have a chance to listen to softball and baseball radio broadcasts throughout the season via live radio streaming online..There are no subscriptions or costs involved and broadcasts can be accessed by clicking on the audio link next to the schedule/calendar on gobulldogs.com. Softball celebrates 10th anniversary of NCAA title
Several events are set to mark the 10th anniversary of Fresno State's NCAA Softball Championship. During halftime of the men's basketball game against Nevada on Saturday, March 8, the title team will be recognized. At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, the 1998 team will sign autographs on the concourse at Bulldog Diamond and participate in a pre-game ceremony before the 3 p.m. first pitch against nationally ranked Houston in the final game of the 2008 Bingham Toyota Classic. Baseball tournament celebrates 30th anniversary
For the 30th year, Fresno State will host the Pepsi-Johnny Quik Classic March 10-15. Teams from Fresno State, Gonzaga, Indiana, New Mexico State, Portland and Utah will compete in the single round-robin format competition. Click here for a schedule and to purchase tickets.
Tennis schedules several March matches
The men's tennis team has scheduled five matches this month, beginning at 1 p.m. Also on the Bulldog home schedule are Eastern Washington and Saint Mary's on March 29 and March 29 against DePaul and UC Davis. The women's tennis team - ranked No. 15 in the nation - will play three matches at the Wathen Center: 3 p.m. Friday, March 7, vs. William and Mary; March 21 vs. Denver; and March 22 vs. BYU. Admission to all tennis games is free.
Men's basketball ends season
The men's basketball team closes out its home season at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8, with a Western Athletic Conference game against Nevada. It will be Senior Night for Kevin Bell, Alex Blair, Hector Hernandez, Eddie Miller, Tyson Parker and Shawn Taylor. Tickets in the upper bowl will be $5 off and can be purchased at the Save Mart Center box office. The Bulldogs' game at Utah State on Monday, March 3, will be televised at 7 p.m. by KFRE, CW-59.
Women's basketball plans Senior Night on March 6
The women's basketball team, fighting for the top seed in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament closes out its home season at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, against New Mexico State. Senior Night festivities will honor the career accomplishments of Erica Henry and Tierre Wilson. General admission tickets are $2 and can be purchased at the Save Mart Center box office.
Track will be home March 28-29
The Bulldog track and field team will host the Cal-Nevada Championships on March 28 and 29 at Warmerdam Field. Last year, 27 teams from all the two states competed in Fresno State's biggest meet to date of the outdoor season. Click here for details.
Men's golf hosts tournament
The Bulldog Men's golf team will host the 45th annual Fresno State Lexus Classic at Fort Washington Country Club on March 10 and 11. The tournament will run all day and admission is free.
2008 Bulldog football schedule set
The 2008 Fresno State football schedule is set, kicking off at UCLA on Aug. 30. The home games will be against Wisconsin (Sept. 13), Hawai'I (Oct. 4), Idaho (Oct. 11), Nevada (Nov. 7) and New Mexico State (Nov. 15). Two of the home games will get national TV exposure, as will two Bulldog away games.
