Keyboard Concerts series features pianist Biss
The Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concert Series presents pianist Jonathan Biss in concert at California State University, Fresno at 8 p.m. April 2. Bliss, 26, is noted for his artistic maturity and versatility, prodigious technique and intriguing programs. In his career he has collaborated with many of the world’s leading conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Herbert Blomstedt, Charles Dutoit, James Levine, Lorin Maazel and Michael Tilson Thomas. Fresno State celebrates “World Dance Week 2008”
During the last week of April, World Dance Week will be celebrated on campus. University Dance Theatre is presenting “Dance d’action” at the Lab School 101 Theater on April 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. and Saturday April 26 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes before the show, so come early to ensure premium seating. Free parking can be found in lots C and D. Tickets are $5 and should be purchased in advanced either online at www.csufresno.edu/Theatre or at the box office. Cineculture Spring 2008 Lineup
The Cineculture Club will offer films this month at 5:15 p.m. on Fridays. All films will be shown in McLane 121, unless otherwise indicated. Included in the lineup are “Bombies” on April 18 and “Fuerza y Coraje” on April 25. Parking is relaxed after 4:30 p.m. on Fridays in area parking lots. On April 19, Dennis and Cheryl Woods Theatre will present “Devon’s Hurt” by Laurie Brooks at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Speech Arts Building. Fresno State's Jazz Band A under the direction of Dr. Michael Caldwell will perform on
Thursday, April 24 at 1 p.m. in the Music Building Concert Hall for members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). The performance, "Jazz-In-Action@Fresno State" will feature some of the most noted young jazz talent on the West.
