Women's basketballWomen’s basketball makes history
In March, the ’Dogs had several firsts in the program’s history and were recognized for several awards. The Bulldogs were selected as a fourteen seed to play the third seeded Baylor Lady Bears in Albuquerque, N.M. for the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, March 22. Other awards include the following: WAC Coach of the Year (Adrian Wiggins), WAC Player of the Year (Tierre Wilson), WAC Freshman of the Year (Jaleesa Ross), WAC Tournament MVP (Jaleesa Ross), WAC Regular Season Champions, WAC Tournament Champions and NCAA Tournament Bound.

Golf tournament registration open
The 12th annual Faculty/Staff Golf Tournament tees off at 1 p.m. on May 28 at the Fig Garden Golf Course. Early bird registration will be accepted through April 11 for $70. The event costs $75 per person after that. Included are a commemorative polo shirt, special competitions, lunch and dinner with a post-tournament awards ceremony and prize drawing. Softball1998 softball champs return to campus
Members of the 1998 Fresno State softball team joined Coach Margie Wright and her 2008 Bulldog softball team at Bulldog Diamond on March 9, 2008, to remember when the 1998 team won the university’s only NCAA Division I Championship. The players presented Wright, the winningest softball coach in NCAA history, with an autographed team picture and it was proclaimed Softball National Championship Day in Fresno.

The Bulldog Sports Network will broadcast the WAC home opener against Nevada on Friday, April 4, at 6 p.m. The game can be seen live on KFRE CW 59 in Fresno. Also, 18 Olympic sporting events (six volleyball matches, six women’s basketball games and six softball games) will air on Comcast channel 14 in April and May.

Free radio streaming of Bulldog baseball, softball
All fans now have a chance to listen to softball and baseball radio broadcasts throughout the season via live radio streaming online. There are no subscriptions or costs involved; broadcasts can be accessed by clicking on the audio link next to the schedule/calendar on gobulldogs.com. All games will also be archived for later listening.

Softball, baseball ticket deals in April and May
There are several mini plan packages and ticket specials to choose from this season at Bulldog Diamond and Beiden Field, including the popular Family Four Pack (2 adult, 2 youth upper reserved tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas for $32). Also available are Two-For-Tuesdays (buy one, get one free for tickets and buy one hot dog, get one free at concessions on April 1 and 22 baseball games) and Why Not Wednesdays (ticket special of buy one, get one free for tickets on April 23 baseball game and April 30 softball game.)

Baseball home games and promotions
The Bulldogs continue their defense of back-to-back WAC titles this season by taking on Louisiana Tech, Santa Clara and San Francisco at home in April.  Baseball home games and promotions in April include the following: April 11 against Louisiana Tech at 6:05 p.m., April 12 doubleheader against Louisiana Tech at 2:05 p.m. and April 13 against Louisiana Tech at 1:05 p.m. Promotions include April 11-13, which is Take a Kid to the Game Weekend. Also on the schedule are April 22 against Santa Clara at 6:05 p.m. (Two for Tuesday) and April 23 against San Francisco at 6:05 p.m. (Why Not Wednesday).

Softball success
After coming in first at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, with an undefeated 5-0 record, the Bulldogs have locked in a 30-win season while freshman pitcher Morgan Melloh already has 20 wins and 200 strikeouts on the season. At the Judi Garman Classic, the No.14 ’Dogs defeated two ranked teams in No. 6 Michigan, 6-5 and No. 20 Long Beach State, 2-0. 

SoftballSoftball home games and promotions in April
Several Fresno State softball home games offer special promotions in April. On April 4, the ’Dogs host Nevada in their WAC home opener at 6 p.m. Prior to the game, Domestic Violence Awareness Night begins at 5 p.m. in the Free Speech Area with the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event. On April 5, the ’Dogs play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. vs. Nevada and all kids eighth grade and younger receive a free ticket when accompanied by a paying adult on Take a Kid to the Game Day. On April 25, the ’Dogs face WAC rival Hawai’i at 6 p.m. and hold a Cancer Awareness Night. On April 26, the ’Dogs play a doubleheader vs. Hawai’i at 1 p.m. and invite softball players eighth grade and under to attend Youth Softball Day. Youth players ages eighth grade and under wearing their team’s uniform will get in for free and any friends and family can purchase tickets for $2 each. Finally, on April 30, the ’Dogs play a doubleheader vs. St. Mary’s at 6 p.m. For more information, log on to www.gobulldogs.com.

Women’s golf
Fresno State will host the 2008 WAC Women’s Golf Championship from April 21-23. The tournament will be held at Sunnyside Country Club. Admission is free. Fans that are unable to attend the championship may follow live scoring of the competition through www.wacsports.com.  

Women's tennisTennis teams have home matches in April
The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 16 (as of March 17) and will be at home at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center for eight matches this month: April 5 against Nevada at 12 p.m., April 6 against No.18 Pepperdine at 10:30 a.m., April 12 against Hawai’i at 10 a.m., April 12 against St. Mary’s at 4 p.m., April 13 against Loyola Marymount at 10 a.m., April 18 against Long Beach State at 1:30 p.m., April 19 against Cal Poly at 11 a.m. and April 19 against Pacific at 4:30 p.m. Home matches are held on campus off Cedar Avenue and admission is free. The ‘Dogs will be then close out the month at the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Championship in Las Cruces, New Mexico April 24-26. The Fresno State men’s tennis team will head to the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Championship in Las Cruces, April 23-26.

The 2008 Fresno State Football Spring Scrimmage will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 2 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium. Admission is free. Stadium gates will open at 1 p.m. Also on April 19, season tickets and mini plan packages will be on sale with special incentives to purchase in person. The Bulldog Shop will have a spring tent sale in the Blue Lot (west side in front of the ticket office) starting at 10 a.m. with deals on hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts. Select parking lots will open at 10 a.m. and tailgating in designated lots will be permitted. KMJ 580AM will also broadcast the spring scrimmage live from Bulldog Stadium.
