Road Trip to Victory - 2008 HomecomingHomecoming activities begin Oct. 6
The 2008 Homecoming festivities with a “Road Trip to Victory” theme will start 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, with a kickoff event outside the University Student Union hosted by Fresno State Athletics and USU Productions.

Part of all Homecoming events this year will be the opportunity to donate nonperishable food items to the Community Food Bank.

Athletics and the Fresno State Alumni Association will host Red Friday on Oct. 10 in the Pavilion between the Kennel Bookstore and the USU, with donuts, coffee, juice and prizes for faculty and staff who wear red apparel. This Red Friday is in addition to the one Oct. 3.

The Homecoming Pep Rally will take place the early evening of Oct. 10 at Bulldog Boulevard (adjacent to Bulldog Stadium), featuring Fresno State teams, prizes, inflatables, games and music. Also that evening, the Alumni Association will honor Top Dog Alumni at a gala in the Save Mart Center.

The annual Homecoming game is at 7 p.m. Oct. 11, when the Bulldogs host Western Athletic Conference rival Idaho. Fresno State football and management students have partnered with the Community Food Bank and Sierra Pacific Orthopedic & Spine Center for the second annual food drive. Collection bins will be at all parking lots and stadium entrances.

Homecoming football ticket = free soccer, volleyball, too
Anyone who presents a ticket from the Oct. 11 Homecoming football game against Idaho can attend that afternoon’s volleyball game against Nevada at no cost or the Oct. 12 soccer game against Hawai’i.

Volleyball begins at 2 p.m. in the Save Mart Center, while soccer starts at 2 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium. Both are Western Athletic Conference matches. Visit www.gobulldogs.com for details.

Fresno State faculty and staff and their families can take advantage of volleyball promotions that allow admission for $2 per person.

Women's SoccerStaff, faculty and families can watch soccer for $2
Soccer Sundays at Bulldog Stadium mean $2 admission for Fresno State faculty and staff members – and their families – on Oct. 12 (2 p.m. vs. Hawai’I) and Oct. 26 (noon vs. Idaho).

The promotion has been extended to the 7 p.m. Oct. 24 game against Boise State, which is Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night.

Fresno State FootballFresno State football telecasts on Channel 53
The Bulldog Sports Network (KAIL, Channel 53) and will televise the next four Fresno State football games – all Western Athletic Conference contests – including the Homecoming Game at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11, when Idaho visits Bulldog Stadium.

Also on the schedule is the home game against Hawai’I at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct 4, and the road games at Utah State (noon Oct. 25) and Louisiana Tech (11:30 a.m. Nov. 1).  “Bulldog Blitz,” a half-hour pregame, precedes each broadcast.

KUVI, Channel 45, in Bakersfield airs all BSN broadcasts live. Comcast SportsNet carries Fresno State in Northern California and Western Nevada, serving such cities as San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento and Reno.

Football radio broadcasts are on KMJ, 580 AM, and ESPN Deportes, 1600 AM. A 90-minute call-in show, “Dog Talk,” and 30-minute “Countdown to Kickoff” precede KMJ broadcasts, which are followed by the “Bulldog Review” postgame report.

Bulldog volleyball on Comcast cable, radio
First-year Coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell’s Bulldog volleyball team will be on TV twice during October when it hosts Boise State (7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2) and Nevada (2 p.m. Oct. 11). Both are Western Athletic Conference contests.

The Boise State game also will be broadcast on 790 AM ESPN Radio (“The Deuce”), as will the  matchup with Utah State (7 p.m. Oct. 18).

Men’s basketball scrimmage is Oct. 29
The Fresno State men’s basketball team will host a free Red and White Scrimmage and skills showcase on Wednesday, October 29th at the Save Mart Center. The time is yet to be determined but visit gobulldogs.com for more information leading up to the event including basketball ticket information for the upcoming season.
