Spotlighting good works

"Spotlight on Service" highlights the outstanding community service of Fresno State students - as well as faculty and staff - that too often goes unnoticed.  Our university is committed to being a premiere regional interactive university and to working with and in our community to address social issues and improve the education of our students.

Fresno State students volunteered 171,000 hours in a variety of settings throughout the region in 2004-05, providing a total economic impact of $3.86 million. In addition, many other students provide thousands of hours individually and through their student clubs and organizations.

Faculty and staff members are encouraged to submit information about community service-learning projects in which they and their students are involved. Include name, major (if student), department (if faculty or staff member), what the service involves, where and what the impact to the community is. Digital photographs are welcome.
