Expo planned for potential grad students Grad Expo is a major recruitment event for prospective graduate students. This is a biennial event designed to highlight the university's master's degree programs, the joint doctorate, the Certificates of Advanced Study, credential programs and the advantages of postbaccalaureate education. Students can meet with graduate admissions, financial aid, scholarships, testing, career services and alumni office personnel to discuss their needs. Undergraduate Fresno State students and community members are the focus of recruiting for graduate studies. Because many students work full time or part time, the expo is scheduled in the afternoon and early evening to accommodate their schedules. Juniors and seniors at Fresno State are invited to attend. In addition, Grad Expo is one way the university extends its presence into the community it serves, and more than 600 schools and businesses in the San Joaquin Valley will received information on the event. The university expects a large number of attendees looking to advance their careers and achieve personal education goals, said Carol Bradshaw, Fresno State’s coordinator of Grad Expo. Potential students will be able to meet with graduate faculty and current graduate students from the university’s 43 master’s degree programs, the joint doctorate, certificates of advanced study and the credential programs. Campus offices integral to the graduate admissions process will also have representatives on hand. Staff from the offices of admissions, testing, financial aid, career services, and the alumni association will be in attendance. Students can register for the GRE, GMAT, and MAT, and graduate admissions staff will offer on-site admissions counseling. Questions about Grad Expo can be directed to the Division of Graduate Studies at 278.2448. For more information visit www.csufresno.edu/gradstudies/expo.html. |
