Library dean featured speaker Womack Lecture Series
Michael Gorman, dean of Library Services at Fresno State and president of the American Library Association, will speak on “Libraries: their present and future” at the Madden Library’s endowed Womack Lecture Series on Thursday, Oct. 20.
A reception will be held at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. in McLane Hall, W Wing, Room 161.

Also on the program is recognition of Printise J. and Rhoda Womack by Jack Pitt, Professor Emeritus of philosophy.

The Printise J. Womack Lectures were established by the bequest of Rhoda H. Womack in memory of her late husband, who was a long time Madden Library employee. The lecture topics alternate between progressive politics and librarianship. In 2004, Tony Coelho, who represented the Central Valley in the U.S. Congress for 10 years, delivered the inaugural address of the lecture series, “What Is Public Service and Why Is It Needed?”
