  New director of Information Technology Services named

Richard Boes has been named director of Information Technology Services.

He has 15-plus years of experience in information technology, most recently serving sevent years at Brown University in Rhode Island, where he was first as the director of computing facilities and then as the director of Network Technology.

While at Brown he was instrumental in leading several capital improvement projects focused on technology infrastructure upgrades, similar to Fresno State's current TII and switch upgrade projects. He also was on the startup team that created the Technology Center for Advanced Scientific Computing and Visualization, a research center at Brown.

Prior to joining Brown University, he was a senior analyst responsible for IT support to a division of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.

Boes has a depth of experience in building, sustaining and supporting a broad spectrum of technologies that support academics, research and administrative applications including voice, video and data networks.

He earned his bachelor of science degree computer science at Michigan Technology University and his MBA in high technology from Northeastern University.
