Student-athletes participate in Big Heroes-Little Heroes
Fresno State and Children's Hospital in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Fresno has teamed up once again for the Big Heroes-Little Heroes Program. The first event will be a Halloween Party on Wed., Oct. 19, 6:30-8:00 p.m., in Conference Room A/B (downstairs on ground floor) at Children's Hospital. A valued and honored partnership between the Bulldogs, Children's Hospital and the Rotary Club, Fresno State student-athletes from nearly all the sports will be on hand as pizza, games and pumpkin carving highlight the event. November sees first men's basketball road trip this month
The first road trip of the 2005-06 Fresno State men's basketball season is this month.  The Bulldogs will play at Cal Poly on Wednesday, Nov. 23. There will be a bus departing from the Bulldog Ticket Office parking lot on the same day at 1 p.m.  The cost is $45 per person and $40 for Time Out Club members and includes the bus ride and a game ticket.  To make a reservation, call Tim Schiller at 225-3164.

WAC announces men's, women's pre-season polls
The Western Athletic Conference announced its men's and women's basketball preseason polls and all-WAC teams on Wednesday morning at the conference's annual media day, with Fresno State well-represented on both sides. The Fresno State men's basketball team, under the direction of first-year head coach Steve Cleveland, was picked to finish third by the media and fifth by the coaches. The Bulldogs finished 16-14 overall last year and 9-9 in the WAC, good for fourth place in the conference despite being tabbed to finish ninth in the league's preseason polls. In addition, junior guard Ja'Vance Coleman was voted preseason All-WAC as a first-team selection in both the media and coaches' poll. Coleman, named to last year's All-WAC Newcomer team, led the `Dogs in scoring (16.9 ppg) in his first collegiate season. More...
