Matthew J. Sharps (Psychology) and Adam Hess (now a doctoral student at Alliant International University) received the award for Best Research Paper at the 2005 conference of the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology in Scottsdale, Ariz. The paper, “Memory and Interpretation of Complex Crime Scenes,”  shared the award with a group at Carleton University in Ottawa for its work on geographic profiling.

 

Eric Person (Chemistry) Eric Person (Chemistry) was been named a 2006 recipient of a national award from the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. The award is given by the national academy for regional work. The Northwest region selected Preson’s video presentation about a new method being used for the illegal production of methamphetamine. Person is director of the Fresno State Forensic Science program.

Bill Erysian (Division of Continuing and Global Education) has published “The USDA Story: 12 Years of Partnership with Armenia,” which assesses the impact of USDA assistance to Armenia from 1992 to 2004. The book includes how Fresno State was retained by the USDA to help the Armenian Agricultural Academy reform its agricultural economics department and develop a strategy for implementing a nationwide agricultural extension and research program.  The book also explores the role and long-term impact of nearly 350 technical advisers who served as agriculture specialists in Armenia in irrigation, dairy, enology, banking, small-farm management, animal husbandry, fruit and vegetable processing and education.
