Campus hosts day-long percussion workshop

Fresno State will host a day of workshops and other opportunities for percussionists of various abilities to learn more about their passion on Feb. 25. The day culminates in a concert featuring Christopher Deane, a marimba player who has played with numerous orchestras and is an assistant professor in percussion at the University of North Texas, and Randy Gloss, a hand percussionist who has lectured and performed in North and South American, Europe and Asia.

Joining Deane and Gloss will be the Fresno State Percussion Ensemble and Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Lawrence Sutherland. The performance, which is open to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m.

Concert admission costs $10; $8 for faculty, staff and seniors; $5 students.
