Business plan could prove lucrative Faculty, staff and students are eligible to compete for the $10,000 top prize in the Business Plan Contest, sponsored by the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Coleman Foundation on campus and the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. March 31, with preliminary judging April 28 and the third annual Invention 2 Venture workshop on April 29. At least one principal of the proposed business must be a Fresno State student in good standing. The winning team also will receive one year of free office space in the new Lyles Center Hatchery on the second floor of the recently completed Student Recreation Center and automatic entry in the Draper Fisher Jurvetson $250,000 Venture Competition held in June. The competition is open only to California universities. Workshops are available Thursday (March 2), March 23 and April 6 to assist in writing the plan. There is no charge to attend the workshops.
