CSU Summer Arts lines up
attractive guitar course Each July at Fresno State, one of the most popular parts of the CSU Summer Arts program is the guitar component. And this year’s “Flamenco Forms and Techniques in the Classic Guitar Repertoire” has plenty of star power to assure a repeat of that level of popularity. Course coordinator Corey Whitehead, a Fresno State professor, has lined up world-renowned concert guitarists Juan Serrano and Eliot Fisk for the course July 16-28, the second half of CSU Summer Arts, which begins July 2. The two will be on campus as master teachers for this workshop and also for public performances. Serrano returns to the university, where he formerly taught. Fisk is back after holding last year's Summer Arts audience captive with his brilliant guitar technique and elegant presence. Other guest artists/instructors are no less well known or revered as guitar masters. They are Marc Teicholz, Adam del Monte and Jason McGuire. The guitar class is one of 17 workshop intensives offered by CSU Summer Arts on the Fresno State campus. Course catalogs are available by calling 559.241.6090 or online to www.csusummerarts.org |
