Orientation welcomes
more than 130 new employees
More than 130
people who have come to work at Fresno State in the past year participated
in a half-day orientation by Employment and Benefit Services that explained
how various parts of the university work together as an educational
institution. Also on the agenda were several benefits topics.

IT Help Desk support available three ways
Information Technology Services’ Help
Desk, which supports campus telephones, computers, network connections and
Central Valley Internet Project Internet services, accommodates an average
of 2,700 requests a month. The Help desk is available to people who walk in
(weekdays only), call or make requests online.

Alumni family finds Liberty Bowl especially meaningful
Three members of
a Fresno State alumni
family, who went to the Liberty Bowl hoping to cheer the Bulldog football
team to victory, found a much deeper experience in their trip to Memphis.
Richard Samuelian and his sons, Richard and Ron, met a family from
Mobile, Ala., trying to recover from a son receiving cancer treatment at
bowl beneficiary St. Jude’s Children’s
Research Hospital and
Hurricane Katrina devastating their house. “This kind of connection is what
we strive to achieve,” said Steve Ehrhart, the Liberty Bowl executive
director.

Awareness Week in full swing on campus
This is
Diversity Awareness Week, which offers a number of reminders through Friday,
April 7, about the variety of cultures on campus and throughout our
community. This year’s theme, “Diversity Your World: Celebrating Culture”
embraces the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., student conference, a
discussion about sexism and a film presentation and discussion on today,
