Music Department’s year ends with plenty of May performances

May 1

President's Quintet & Clendenin Brass Quintet – Year’s final concert at 7:30 p.m. in Wahlberg Recital Hall; cost is $5 general; $4 faculty, staff, seniors, students.

May 3

New Music Ensemble – 7::30 p.m. in Wahlberg Recital Hall; cost is $6 general, $5 faculty, staff, seniors, students.

May 6-7

Opera Workshop, "There is Beauty in the Bellow of the Blast!" –  Opera Workshop and Chamber Singers present comic scenes from Gilbert & Sullivan's operettas “Iolanthe,” “The Mikado,” “The Gondoliers” and “The Pirates of Penzance” under the direction of Randolph Lacy; 7:30 p.m. May 6, 3 p.m. May 7 in Concert Hall; cost $10 general, $8 faculty and staff, $5 seniors and students.

Fresno Community Chorus – Rossini's “Petite Messe Solennelle” performed by Coro Piccolo, the Chamber Singers of the Fresno Community Chorus; soloists are Brigid de Jong (pictured at right), Chrissand Darling, Randolph Lacy and John Karr; 8 p.m. in Concert Hall; cost $10 general, $8 faculty, staff, students.
