NCAA ruling
credits Fresno State’s efforts to prevent violations
The NCAA
accepted penalties that Fresno State imposed on itself last year for men’s
basketball rules infractions, noted the university’s changes in policies and
procedures to prevent recurrence and added three years’ probation (until
April 2010). Since the violations came to light, all members of the previous
coaching staff were replaced, a new athletic director and compliance expert
hired and a full compliance review conducted by an outside consultant.
