Track & Field Awards Banquet/Hall of Fame induction is May 3
The Fresno State track and field team will host its annual awards banquet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the Satellite Student Union. Tickets are $20 per person. Also on the program will be induction of the 2006 Hall of Fame.

Kiwanis Torch of Excellence dinner honors 281 student-athletes
The 10th annual Kiwanis Torch of Excellence dinner begins at 6 p.m. May 8 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Fresno. The event, spearheaded by Fresno State’s Student-Athlete Services in cooperation with the local Kiwanis clubs, will honor 281 Bulldog student-athletes. They have achieved a 3.0 or better cumulative grade-point average for the 2005 spring and fall semesters or maintained a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA during their academic career. More than half of this year’s honorees were on the Dean’s List (3.5 GPA or higher) and 47 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0.

May is championship month for Bulldogs sports
May is championship month at Fresno State, hosting both the baseball and softball Western Athletic Conference championships.  The softball championship will be decided at Bulldog Diamond on May 11-13.  The baseball championship series runs May 25-28 at Beiden Field. In addition, both sports will look to host NCAA Regional play. The NCAA Regional announcement for softball is scheduled May 28 and the announcement for baseball will be May 28.

Bid for the Bulldogs returns with auction items to benefit athletics
The annual Bid for the Bulldogs year-end social and fundraiser will be held June 3 in the North Gymnasium and in the front courtyard entrance to the building.  Bidding on auction items is tentatively scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Money raised by the event goes into the Fresno State Athletics Department general fund.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 278.3647 or online at www.gobulldogs.com.

Bulldog summer camps offer training in variety of sports
With summer right around the corner, several Bulldogs athletic teams are offering summer camps.  Information on baseball, basketball, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling camps is available online at www.gobulldogs.com.
