The 2007 Valley Health Conference on April 20 will address everyday health concerns for central San Joaquin Valley citizens and the health resources available to help them optimize health and live longer.
California State University, Fresno is one of several sponsors of the conference, which begins with registration and a trade show at 7:15 a.m. and presentations at 8 a.m. at the Fresno Convention Center.
Dr. Donald O. Lyman, the chief of the Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Control in the California Department of Health Services, will discuss nutrition and physical activity during his featured speech during the luncheon.
Fresno State alumnae Stefani Booroojian, a news anchor at Fresno NBC affiliate KSEE-24, will host a discussion at 1:45 p.m. about her station’s “Buddy Check” program. Booroojian helped launch the outreach program that reminds women to contact other women and remind them about doing breast self-exams. The program has been credited with saving lives through its early detection methods and by offering research updates about breast cancer.
